Oracle EBS 11i to R12.1.3 Upgrade

Oracle EBS 11i to R2.1.3 upgrade can be a lengthy process and requires different teams to work togather for a successful execution.

The idea behind creating this upgrade guide was to put down all the TECHNICAL steps at one place. There are many functional steps that are involved in EBS 11i to R2.1.3 upgrade, which are NOT included in this guide. As such this guide is good starting point for an Oracle Apps DBA to get details on steps involved in the upgrade process. Going through all the related Oracle documents is essential for planning a production upgrade to R12.1.3 as different 11i setups may have different pre-requirements to be met before upgrade to R12.1.3.

This upgrade guide has been divided into below five parts:

1) Install Fresh EBS 11i on Linux 5 32 Bit (PART 1 in “11i to R12.1.3 upgrade” series)
2) Upgrade database 9.2.0.6 to 11.2.0.4 in 11i (PART 2 in “11i to R12.1.3 upgrade” series)
3) 11i Split configuration- Move 11g Database to Linux 6 64Bit (PART 3 in “11i to R12.1.3 upgrade” series)
4) Upgrade 11i TO R12.1.1 (PART 4 in “11i to R12.1.3 upgrade” series)
5) Upgrade R12.1.1 To R12.1.3 (PART 5 in “11i to R12.1.3 upgrade” series)

Change weblogic user password in EBS R12.2

New features in Database 12c

Database 12c brought with it many new features. There are improvement in many areas and new concepts. Most notable is the concept of Container database and Pluggable database.

Container Databases (CBD) and Pluggable Databases (PDB) brings with it a radical change and a major change in the core database architecture. Besides this major change there are many other improvements that Database 12c has. Some of those new features are listed below:
