We have observed many requests of couple of concurrent prorgams in our R12 instance go into error with below kind of message:

Enter Password:
MSG-01001: Entering AfterPForm
MSG-01001: Starting to retrive former request parameter by request ID
MSG-01001: Exiting AfterPForm
MSG-01010: :S_BATCH_COUNT = 0
REP-0069: Internal error
REP-57054: In-process job terminated:Executed successfully but there were some errors when distribute the output
REP-50159: Executed successfully but there were some errors when distribute the output
REP-54002: file : Cache item is no longer valid

FND_NO_DATABASE_CONNECTION in Oracle EBS R12

BNE UIX Physical Directory

For R12, this profile option should be NULL/blank at all levels.

Flush Bad SQL Plan from Shared Pool

Sometimes it is required to flush the BAD SQL_PLAN from shared_pool so that new (or old) better execution plan can be picked by SQL_ID

1) FIND ADDRESS AND HASH_VALUE OF SQL_ID

SQL> select ADDRESS, HASH_VALUE from V$SQLAREA where SQL_ID like '7yc%';

Finding the SQL_ID for a SQL Statement is straight forward task. You can use query like below to find the SQL_ID

SQL> SELECT sql_id, hash_value, SUBSTR(sql_text,1,40) Text FROM v$sql WHERE sql_text LIKE '%&An_Identifiable_String%';

ASM Disk header corruption

Couple of ASM disk headers were accidentally removed by UNIX sysadmin team.

After disk headers got removed, the database kept running for some time as the data inside disk was intact. When scheduled RMAN backup kicked off the database came down.

ORA-27300: OS system dependent operation:invalid_egid

In one of our EBS database we faced issue when connecting to SQLPLUS

Error message which was coming up was as below:

[oracle@dbserver bin]$ sqlplus apps/apps

ERROR:
ORA-27140: attach to post/wait facility failed
ORA-27300: OS system dependent operation:invalid_egid failed with status: 1
ORA-27301: OS failure message: Operation not permitted
